The Hertfordshire Interpreters and Translators Association (THITA) is a voluntary organisation which was founded in November 1992.

THITA's intention is to provide interpreting and translation services to local health and social services, the police, county and magistrates courts, voluntary organisations and the private sector.

THITA provides these services using more than 160 interpreters and translators, covering more than 45 languages. Recruitment, assessment, training and professional development are an integral part of our activities as a voluntary sector organisation.

We provide the following services:
  • Face-to-face interpreting
  • Telephone interpreting
  • Written translations
  • Audio and Video recordings

We also organise training courses. Further details are found in the Current Training section
