| The Hertfordshire Interpreters and Translators Association (THITA) was founded as a voluntary organisation in November 1992 and was registered as a Community Interest Company in March 2010.
THITA provides interpreting and translation services to local health and social services, the police, county and magistrates courts, voluntary organisations and the private sector.
We also provide mutual support to organisations and individuals in the field of community and public service interpreting and translation.
THITA provides these services via our comprehensive database using more than 160 interpreters and translators, covering more than 60 languages and dialects. Recruitment, assessment, training and professional development are an integral part of our activities as a Community Interest Company. We provide the following services:
- Face-to-face interpreting (medical appointments, court/probation hearings, intreviews etc.)
- Simultaneous interpreting (meetings and seminars etc.)
- Telephone interpreting
- Written translations
- Audio and Video recordings
- British Sign Language
- Deafblind signing (manual or hands on)
- Community Workshops and Specialist Consultancies
