About THITA > Aims and Objectives
 

The intention of The Hertfordshire Interpreters and Translators Association (THITA) is to provide interpreting and translation services to local health and social services, the police,probation, County and Magistrates courts, voluntary organisations and the private sector.

Our Aims and Objectives

To promote best practice and work towards achieving equality and diversity in the provision of (and access to) services to minority linguistic communitites.

To provide mutual support to organisations and individuals in the field of community interpreting and translation

To enhance the professional status of community interpreters and translators

To develop strategies to encourage a cohesive, inclusive and confident community

To develop innovative training and education workshops

To collaborate and consult with community bodies and businesses to ensure a diverse, cohesive and professional service to our partners and the public

To facilitate education, communication and understanding

To identify service trends and service users' needs

To measure and assure quality of delivering interpreting and translation services

To cultivate codes of conduct for all our staff and users to ensure and promote excellence and professionalism in this field
