Angela Patrick Coordinator

"I joined THITA in August 2009 following 18 years service with Guardian, News and Media. As a Prince2 qualified project manager and service delivery specialist I was well equipped to support THITA in its transisition to Community Interest Company by rebranding the business and roll out innovative and diverse processes. I have just passed my BSL Level 1 qualification and am due to start Level 2 in September 2011!"

Duties include:

  • Coordinates overall operational function of day to day bookings of interpreters
  • Marketing, publicity and promotion of THITA to ensure its ongoing success!
  • Establishes supervision/support and development for staff
  • Establishes partnerships and working framework with local community agencies
  • Tender compilation and presentation for new business
  • Ensures quality of service delivery to best practice guidelines
  • Development of operational and organisational systems and procedures
  • Analysis of interpreting and translation services countywide
  • Recruitment of interpreters, language assessment, selects and oversees yearly induction in order to maintain and develop interpreting database
  • Manages resources/undertakes business planning
  • Establishes support network for interpreters and community 
  • Keeps abreast of new developments
  • Coordinates training

 

 

 
Margarita Tsoi Administrator

"I joined THITA as an Administrator in 2004 and have recently helped develop new accountancy and administritive procedures which have proved both time saving and cost effective. I am also a qualified DPSI interpreter in Cantonese and Mandarin which offers us a valuable insight into frontline interpreting!

Duties Include:

  • Receives requests for interpreters and translation work
  • Matches the interpreters and translators to the needs of clients/service users
  • Sends out necessary paper work i.e. verbal and written confirmations to the client and interpreters together with monitoring form and data entry
  • Maintains electronic data of both Service users and members
  • Maintains accounts e.g. sales and purchase ledger, invoices,receiving payments, online banking and payment to interpreters
  • Assists Coordinator with training programmes and material
  • Maintains office harmony!
