TRAINING FOR 2012 !!!
Throughout the year we try to organise a selection of workshops, induction programmes and training courses for both our interpreters, service users, community groups and local businesses as we strive to establish and develop strategies to ensure access and understanding of services and facilities available to all in the community.
This is also good opportunity for those who would like to become an interpreter within the public and private sector.
Are you bilingual? Would you like to train as an interpreter?
At THITA we run the following Interpreting Courses: Public Services Interpreting Foundation Course*: One unified course introducing interpreting and translation techniques, Code of Ethics, overview of the public services, study and research strategies, note-taking techniques, managing interpreting interviews, production of a bilingual glossary of technical terminology.
The course leads to an internally assessed Certificate of Proficiency (minimum requirement for working for THITA) and constitutes the first part of the overall syllabus for the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting course Coming in 2012!!!!.
